The symbols of the state are the ice hockey, the loon, the pink and white lady's slipper, and the red pine. Although Minnesota has no World Heritage Sites, other lovely sites take visitors back in time to experience its pioneer ancestry and rich Native American heritage.

Minnesota is the 32nd state of the United States, admitted to the Union in 1858. Before this, it was under the rule of Britain and France at various times. Its capital is Saint Paul, the largest city – Minneapolis, nicknamed Mini Apple. Other major cities: Rochester, Duluth, Bloomington.

"Minnesota is a state of public-spirited and polite people, where you can get a good cappuccino and eat Thai food and find any book you want and yet live on a quiet tree-lined street with a backyard and send your kids to public school. When a state this good hits the jackpot, it can only be an inspiration to everybody." – Garrison Keillor, an American radio entertainer, and writer.
