Trip to Maine

Maine takes pleasure in providing tourists with distinctive sights and tour alternatives. Here are over 6,000 lakes and ponds, with beautiful lakeside villages and sandy beaches. Also, picturesque coastal towns and lighthouses dot the landscape. Accommodation options in the state include resorts and secluded cabins, as well as campgrounds and huts.

Maine is the 23rd state of the United States, admitted to the Union in 1820. Before this, it was under the rule of Britain and France. Its capital is Augusta, the largest city – Portland, nicknamed Forest City. Other major cities: Lewiston, Bangor, Auburn. The symbols of the state are the black-capped chickadee, the moose, the white pine, and the wild blueberry.

Although Maine has no World Heritage Sites, its features, especially the culture of the indigenous peoples collectively known as Wabanaki, attract tourists. Maine's historical past is now on exhibits in museums, cultural centers, and festivals across the state.

"In this part of the world, only Maine gives winter the welcome and the worship it should have." – Tom Allen, an English comedian.
